Celebration of the Dubai Chapter of Harley Owners Group’s 15th birthday at The Music Room, Majestic Hotel.

On January 30th the Dubai Chapter of the Harley Owner’s Group (HOG) held a huge celebration to celebrate its 15th anniversary, which was attended by more than 200 people in The Music Room of the Majestic Hotel in Bur Dubai. They rocked the night away with the help of the sensational live performances of The Music Room’s two resident bands, Flipside and the Rockspiders.
The HOG’s Director Mr. Kevin Smith made a speech marking the event as did the Majestic Hotel’s General Manager, Mr. Alexander Economides, who welcomed the group to The Music Room which he dubbed “Home for the HOGs.” A new privilege card was launched by The Music Room and Majestic Hotel for the HOGs.
The Chapter officially launched on 26th January 1994 and was the first HOG Chapter to be formed in the Middle East.Today the Chapter has around 250 members. The group rides together on Friday mornings and meet together socially once a month. Around three times a year, the members do an overnight ride. The Dubai HOG Chapter does charity events with other motorcycle clubs and the annual Special Needs Families Fair in Deira, the Chapter gives special needs children rides on the bikes and helps raise money for the charity.
Three past Directors of the Dubai HOG Chapter, Maher Murad, Chris Hall and Don Decker flew in especially from the USA to attend the significant occasion of the 15th anniversary. Naturally, the current Director Kevin R. Smith was also in attendance.
Many members from the very early days of the formation of the Dubai Chapter of HOG, past members, current members and many friends from other motorcycle clubs with the UAE celebrated together in The Music Room to mark the anniversary. Rows of beautiful machinery could be spotted outside the Majestic Hotel, as the HOGs proudly parked their Harley motorcycles outside the nightclub. At the end of the night and a wildly successful event, the roaring purr of the Harley engines resonated through Bur Dubai as the HOGs left their “home” The Music Room.

HOG was formed by the Harley Davidson Motor Company in 1983, to dispel the myth that all motorcycle riders were bad people. It was also created to provide a club where the members could just ride and have fun, which also catered for all the family, regardless of race, religion or political views. Membership is nearly 1 ½ million people worldwide with around 1,650 Chapters. HOG is a non profit organization and supports charities all around the globe.
HOG celebrated it’s 25th anniversary last year in conjunction with Harley Davidson’s 105th anniversary. This was a five day event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. USA. Nine members of the Dubai HOG Chapter were in attendance at this great event.
The Music Room is Dubai’s signature live music venue with 2 resident bands, Flipside and the Rockspiders performing sensational renditions of rock classics from the ‘60s to today. The talented musicians take to the stage every night from 7 pm til 3 am. The Music Room is located in the Majestic Hotel, a four star deluxe 28-floor tower on Mankhool Road, Bur Dubai.
