plate is in sight. Instead, a tranquil, cozy, earthy setting welcomes
you, featuring olive trees, which is where the name Elia derives
from. A team of 4 Greek chefs, headed by the award winning Yiannis
Baxevanis not only creates masterpieces of contemporary Greek cuisine,
they serve you their creations themselves, giving you the opportunity
to converse with them about the recipes and the dish.
To a Greek audience,
top name chef Yiannis Baxevanis needs no introduction. Voted the
top chef of Greek Cuisine in Greece for years and with several awards
under his belt, he is set to alter the gastronomical scene in Dubai
with the opening of his first venture outside of Greece. His vision?
For Greek products and Greek cuisine to assume their rightful position
on the world’s gastronomical map. This year, after years of
hard work, “Team Baxevanis” has finally been made official.
People who have worked closely with him, sharing the same vision
and passion have started a journey with a suitcase of Greek aromas
and flavors in their hand. Their first stop on their global endeavors:
ELIA at Majestic Hotel.
According to
Chef Baxevanis, “What distinguishes Greek cooking is the aromatic
herbs we use and the wild mountain greens. Our olive oil, for example,
makes our dishes light and healthy, but above all constitutes our
tradition.” Baxevanis’s creations are borne out of moments
of inspiration. However, he ardently believes that the products
and ingredients are the most significant contributing factor to
the success of a dish. “The quality of the ingredients constitutes
60% of the chef’s success, while the remaining 40% is skill.”
Elia offers
long-established Greek tastes combined with a unique and alternative
presentation of each dish. Top ingredients, distinct creativity,
great service and an amazingly cozy environment are only a few of
Elia’s core elements.

meal starts with a heart-warming welcome: an offering of fresh slices
of the best home-made bread you'll find in Dubai, accompanied by
original olives from Kalamata and fresh virgin olive oil. The menu
contains a wide range of hot and cold mezze and delicious main courses
offering meat, sea food and vegetarian options. It is hard not to
be wowed by the creative use of nuts, Greek cheeses, interesting
herbs and unique combinations which provide a distinctive flavor.
A good selection of Greek wines complements the flavours of the

Majestic Hotel
is a four star deluxe tower hotel of 28 floors, conveniently located
in the heart of Bur Dubai. The hotel is managed by a Greek company.
With the opening of Elia, the Greek management of Majestic Hotel
